REŞİK
Reşik is a traditional shoe from the Van region, with a history dating back centuries, worn by people of all ages—women, men, and children. The upper part is made from wool and goat hair, while the sole is crafted from hemp. The shoes are embroidered with colorful woolen threads. These shoes are known for being resistant to absorbing snow and rainwater, and they do not cause itching, fungus, or odor. During the War of Independence, the people of Van produced these shoes through communal labor for the soldiers.
